Authorities in Maryland have apprehended a man from Waldorf for his alleged involvement in the sexual solicitation of a minor. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Rafee Al-Mansur, faces charges after a Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation uncovered evidence pointing to his alleged online criminal activity, according to a state police press release.
The investigation into Al-Mansur commenced in April 2024, leading authorities to discover his alleged correspondence with someone he believed was a 13-year-old girl in an online chat room. The task force, alongside the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit, and with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations, executed a search warrant at Al-Mansur's residence, where he was subsequently arrested.
Al-Mansur has been charged with two counts of sexual solicitation of a minor and was taken to the Anne Arundel County Detention Center. The nature of the evidence against the accused has not been disclosed in detail by authorities at this stage of the ongoing investigation.
