A routine shoplifting incident swiftly escalated into a fugitive's arrest this past Tuesday. Deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office were dispatched to an HEB grocery store on FM 2920 Road after receiving reports of a male suspect stealing cosmetics. The alleged shoplifter was accused of concealing over $1,800 worth of products and attempting to leave the store without paying, according to a statement from Herman's office.
At the scene, the law enforcement quickly apprehended the suspect, identified as Malik Marshall. The recovered stolen merchandise was promptly returned to the business. The situation took a turn when further investigation found Malik to be a wanted man; he had outstanding warrants for Engaging in Organized Crime in Austin County and Larceny in Fort Bend County.
"Malik Marshall was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, for the open warrants and charged with Theft. His bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 2," Constable Mark Herman was quoted directly from their social media update.
Malik's future court dates for the charges in Harris, Austin, and Fort Bend counties remain pending.
