Washington County's Behavioral Health and Studio Art Direct are calling for artwork submissions from artists in addiction recovery. Selected pieces will be displayed at the Center for Addictions Triage and Treatment (CATT) in Beaverton and Hillsboro, offering an opportunity to share your journey and receive compensation.

With recovery at the heart of the project, the CATT aims to visually embody the spirit of its patients' experiences. "In designing the CATT, we've been inspired by those with lived experience of struggling with substance use," Project Manager Kristin Burke explained. She noted how these personal narratives of recovery and hope have shaped the center's conception. The displayed artwork is one avenue to honor their stories and contributions to the CATT project, she told Washington County's official news portal.

"We are seeking artwork with themes of transformation, hope, and the natural world," Baglien stated, pressing the point that the calming qualities of nature are invaluable in addiction treatment. She encouraged creators to focus on tranquility, personal growth, and resilience in their art.

This initiative not only offers a platform for artists to share their journeys but concurrently aids to foster an environment within the CATT designed to facilitate healing and reflection for those in the throes of recovery.
