Washington D.C. police have successfully nabbed a suspect in connection with a burglary in the Southeast area, bringing a wave of relief to the local community rattled by recent thefts. The burglary, which placed two residents in direct confrontation with the intruder, occurred in the 1300 block of G Street, Southeast, on the afternoon of August 3, 2024. The encounter ended with the burglar fleeing, taking with him property from the house, though luckily, without causing physical harm to the occupants.

However, just a day later, under the broad light of Sunday noon, another incident in the vicinity, a package theft on the 1400 block of K Street, Southeast, led the Metropolitan Police Department right to their suspect. With the suspect promptly detained, the police investigation took a pivotal turn, enabling them to connect the dots back to the burglary from the day before. After a diligent investigation, the Metropolitan Police Department disclosed the identity of the suspect, 60-year-old Albert Patrick Jr.

In a statement released on Monday, the police announced the charges against Patrick. According to the Metropolitan Police Department's press release, the suspect is charged with Burglary First Degree and Theft Second Degree, adding to his legal woes with a Fugitive From Justice charge.
