In a move to address environmental concerns and the perpetual issue of tire disposal, White Settlement is hosting a free tire disposal event later this month. Residents who've been looking to part ways with their old tires can take advantage of this opportunity to declutter their garages while ensuring the tires are disposed of in an eco-friendly manner.
According to the City of White Settlement, the event is set for August 31st from 9 am to 11 am, located at the Municipal Complex at 8211 White Settlement Rd. However, attendees should take note, that space is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Prospective participants are asked to bring proof of residency in the form of a White Settlement water bill for service verification. Each vehicle is allowed to drop off up to four tires, but those coming should ensure that they leave rims at home, as only the tires will be accepted and processed during the disposal event. Moreover, it should be noted that the event will not accept semi, trailer, or tractor tires, a limitation that underscores the targeted nature of this initiative aimed at residents' personal vehicle tires.
For further inquiries, the City of White Settlement encourages residents to reach out with any questions by calling 817-246-5012. This event, not only provides a service to the community, but it also represents a step towards a more sustainable local environment, by diverting waste that could otherwise end up in landfills or, worse, contribute to illegal dumping grounds that mar the landscape and spur ecological issues.
