A fatal crash claimed the life of a 55-year-old driver in Brown County after his vehicle veered off the road and collided with several obstacles, authorities said. The man was identified as Danny Dale Burdine Jr. of Winchester, who was behind the wheel of a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500. The single-vehicle incident occurred on John Woods Road near the intersection with Francis Road in Jackson Township, as reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash, which took place around 7 p.m. yesterday, involved Burdine Jr.'s truck running off the right side of the westbound lane, hitting a utility pole and a fence, and finally coming to a stop against a tree. The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Georgetown post released this information early today, according to FOX19. Following the accident, Burdine Jr. was airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Hospital, where he succumbed to his severe injuries.
The exact cause of the crash remains unclear and is under ongoing investigation by state troopers. Details from a WLWT report conveyed that Burdine suffered serious injuries, which ultimately led to his passing at the medical facility.
