A 55-year-old woman died following a medical emergency at the Elizabethtown Fair this past Tuesday. According to ABC27, the incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. and involved the woman going into cardiac arrest near officers from the Northwest Regional Police Department who were on lunch break at the fairgrounds located at 900 East High Street.
The Elizabethtown Police stated that CPR was to be immediately administered to the victim until Emergency Medical Services from MESA arrived on the scene. Despite the attempts to revive her, the woman succumbed ultimately to her medical crisis. FOX43 reports that she was transported to a local medical facility where she later died.
The occurrence, which police currently are treating as non-suspicious, has prompted an investigation into the medical cause of death by the Lancaster County Coroner's Office. Details of the woman's identity have not been made available to the public as of now.
"There is nothing suspicious, and the cause of the death appears to be medically related," the police indicated in a statement reported by WGAL. As the community awaits further information from the Coroner's Office, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.
