A late-night dispute in East Harris County resulted in tragedy, leaving a woman dead and law enforcement searching for her estranged husband, who is believed to be the shooter. According to information obtained from the Click2Houston report, the Harris County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene near Perry Street and Harrison Street around 11:30 p.m. on Friday. The encounter escalated into violence during which the woman was fatally shot.
Before fleeing the scene, her estranged husband fired the shots when the woman, who was at home with her boyfriend, was involved in an argument with him. The authorities' pursuit of the suspect has intensified as the local community is reckoning with the rare outburst of violence in what officials describe as a typically quiet area. Still, at large, the suspect's details remain withheld by the police.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office shared via X that deputies responded to the incident at a residence in the 2400 block of Perry, where they discovered the deceased woman with gunshot wounds. The post from Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed that investigators were en route following the grim discovery.

Sgt. Miller from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office told Click2Houston, “This particular neighborhood is an older established neighborhood, probably about 500 homes, somewhat affluent. This type of stuff doesn’t happen over here in this area pretty often. So we kind of believe that this might be an isolated deal. It’s not something that we think that somebody, it was just a random deal." In a community unaccustomed to such incidents, the efforts to contact her two children to relay the tragic news about the woman in her 40s continue.
