Police in San Antonio are piecing together the events of a shooting incident that occurred late Monday night on the city's southwest side, where a young man was found with a gunshot wound to his hip. According to KENS 5, the incident happened around 10 p.m. in the 9600 block of Lago Del Mar, not far from Southwest Loop 410.
Responding officers located the victim at the scene and he was promptly taken to University Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition. San Antonio Police Department has not released additional details about potential suspects or the circumstances of the shooting.
Simultaneously, a report from Fox San Antonio suggests the shooting may have been the result of an attempted robbery. Police believe the man was actually shot at another location off Twining Drive, after being approached by an individual attempting to rob him. The altercation apparently escalated, leading to the suspect shooting the victim and subsequently fleeing the scene.
Details concerning the identity of the shooter remain scarce as investigators call upon the community for any leads. “Detectives say they'll speak to the victim at the hospital to hopefully get more information on who shot him,” as stated by Fox San Antonio.
