Ten individuals were arrested following a coordinated street event in Tampa, where they blocked an intersection to perform stunts such as donuts and drifts, drawing hundreds of spectators. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) described the gathering as a "street takeover," a clandestine practice often arranged through social media channels, as WFLA reported.

The participants varied in age, with the youngest being two 17-year-old boys, and the oldest being two 29-year-old men. These arrests not only spotlight the prevalence of such unsanctioned and risky automotive displays but, also the variety of charges pressed, which included unlawful racing on a highway, drug possession, and fleeing to elude. Neighbors identified the South Fork community in Riverview as the location of this latest incident, according to FOX 13.

In addition to the arrests, law enforcement officers confiscated three firearms, impounded four vehicles, and recovered over $6,000 in assets. In a statement obtained by WTSP, "Street racing and roadway takeovers are incredibly dangerous. They obstruct normal traffic flow and can prevent or deter emergency response, potentially putting lives at risk."

Ten people were arrested and taken to Orient Road Jail, and minors were processed at the Hillsborough County Juvenile Assessment Center. Illegal street activities can disrupt traffic and delay emergency responders. If you see something illegal, call *FHP (*347) or 911 to report it.
