A 16-year-old has been charged as an adult following an assault involving a Kenwood High School student, authorities confirm. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, around 2 p.m., near the 500 block of Stemmers Run Rd., 21221. The young victim was reportedly assaulted and subsequently required medical attention, as detailed by the Baltimore County Police Department.
According to an official statement from the Baltimore County Police Department, officers responded to the assault report, and emergency medical services transported the injured juvenile to a local hospital. The injuries were stated to be non-life-threatening. Later on Wednesday evening, a 16-year-old suspect was apprehended by the authorities and was charged as an adult.
The Baltimore County Police Department has not released additional information concerning the juvenile suspect due to legal constraints related to the individual's age. Under these conditions, the suspect's anonymity is preserved, offering a modicum of protection under the law, which blurs the line between juvenile discretion and adult accountability.
