
Southwest Georgia has seen a large-scale joint investigation coming to fruition with the arrest of 18 individuals on various drug trafficking charges. The crackdown was in partnership with multiple law enforcement agencies including the Albany Dougherty County Drug Unit (ADDU), Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, and others across several counties, as reported by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). The key focus of the arrests is on charges related to the possession, trafficking, and conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, as well as the use of communication facilities in commission of these felonies.
Officials executed arrest warrants across counties like Colquitt, Donalsonville, and Camilla—arresting suspects Austin Ray Johns, Brandy Leigh Temples, and Brittany Shanay Richardson among others. Despite the breadth of the operation, some suspects remain on the loose. Kervin Bernard Harrison, Jody Benton, and David Lee Bentley are among those wanted in connection with the investigation. In a bid to cast a wider net, the public's assistance has been sought by the Southwestern Regional Drug Enforcement Office—which covers a 42-county area in the specified region. The collective seizure of drugs, including approximately 778 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 9,000 grams of suspected marijuana.
These multi-agency operations represent not just a pursuit of justice against individuals involved, but also a larger stand for the safety of the citizenry. The enforcement agencies reassure that these efforts are designed to dismantle the structures facilitating street-level drug circulation and to foster safer environments for residents.
