A 19-year-old man is currently in custody, facing charges after a shooting in Columbus's Deshler Park neighborhood left one person dead and another critically injured, officials said. Witnesses reported the suspects to be four males dressed entirely in black, escaping on foot from the chaotic scene that unfolded on the 1400 block of Burstock Road around 8:20 p.m. yesterday, police stated.
Columbus police, responding to reports of gunfire and a man shot, discovered two victims with gunshot wounds, one outside the vehicle and another inside. Summerall's arrest culminated in the department's swift response to the violent outbreak, as announced by authorities this morning through various media channels, including NBC4i.
While the investigation is ongoing, the name of the deceased victim is withheld until the next of kin have been duly notified. The area was secured by authorities who canvassed for evidence and spoke to witnesses, according to Sgt. Albert in a statement obtained by The Columbus Dispatch.
