A 17-year-old girl was tragically shot and killed early yesterday morning in the area of north Harris County. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene at the 7800 block of Richards Road, where the girl was found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead, as reported by FOX 26 Houston.
The alleged shooter, who authorities named Tomas Bautista, aged 21, initially fled the scene of the crime but eventually returned where he was apprehended and taken into custody by deputies, during the incident. Following an investigation, it has been confirmed by the Sheriff's office that the victim and Bautista were involved in a dating relationship.
Bautista has since been charged with the murder of the teenage girl, according to the Sheriff’s office via a social media update by Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. With his booking into the Harris County Jail, he now faces the legal repercussions of his actions as the investigation continues to unravel the events leading up to this tragic outcome.
