A 29-year-old man was killed in a car collision on Fort Weaver Road in Ewa Beach, authorities reported. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, shortly before 3 p.m., when the man's vehicle veered off the road and met with a tragic end. According to KHON2, the driver was allegedly speeding on Fort Weaver Road before the accident.
First responders arrived to find that the car had gone airborne, hit a tree, rolled over multiple times, and struck a street sign. Investigations showed that the driver lost control, leading to the tragic events. Honolulu Police Department officials also reported that the man was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash, which may have worsened the situation.
The northbound lanes of Fort Weaver Road were temporarily closed due to the accident but have since been reopened. Good Samaritans on the scene managed to extract the man from his ill-fated vehicle, after which he was transported in critical condition to an area hospital by paramedics, where he later succumbed to his injuries, as stated by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office, according to KHON2.
