In a recent operation by the FBI's Sonoma County Safe Streets Task Force, a significant cache of illegal weapons was uncovered in a Cloverdale home. A search warrant, part of a federal investigation, led officers and agents to discover an illegally modified, unregistered assault weapon, along with high-capacity magazines, some of which contained armor-piercing ammunition, according to a detailed Facebook post by the CHP Santa Rosa.

The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Nick Pavelka, was subjected to an interview in which he confessed to the modifications and acknowledged the possession of the illegal magazines and ammunition. During the operation, a California Highway Patrol officer assigned to the task force apprehended Pavelka, who was subsequently booked at the Sonoma County Jail on multiple weapons charges.
