A tragic occurrence unfolded in Milford yesterday evening when a 70-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed on U.S. 50 near Interstate 275, according to reports from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP). The collision occurred shortly after 8 p.m., and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by a patrol dispatcher in an interview obtained by Cincinnati.com. The identity of the victim has not been released, pending the notification of next of kin.
As per the OSHP, the driver behind the vehicle's wheel that struck the bicyclist remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Following the crash, the driver was taken to the hospital to be checked out, where they are expected to recover, as being under the influence does not appear to be a factor, detailed by officers at the scene in a statement to Local12 News.
