Two adolescents are currently in custody related to a shooting incident at the Spring Hill Apartments in Akron, which resulted in injuries to an 18-year-old woman. The Akron Police Department reported that the parking lot altercation on Sept. 5 at around 4:30 p.m. led to an exchange of gunfire. After that, the woman was grazed in the leg by a bullet. She received medical treatment at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center and is reportedly suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, FOX8 reports.
Identifications of the arrestees have been made public: Tra’Miere Walker, age 18, and a 16-year-old boy whose name has been withheld due to his minor status. In the wake of the shootout, Walker is facing charges including inducing panic, carrying a concealed weapon, and felonious assault, while the juvenile is charged with felonious assault. This information came from Akron police and was detailed in today's press release. Akron police are still pursuing at least two other persons of interest believed to be connected with the shooting, with an active search ongoing. In a statement obtained by WKYC, investigators have not yet named these individuals.
A consequential search of several apartments at the complex led to the recovery of four firearms, shell casings, and other evidence authorities have deemed pertinent to the case. Several vehicles also suffered damage in the melee. The Akron Police Department has released video footage of the event to assist the public in identifying the two remaining persons of interest.
