The City of Allen is embarking on a community-wide celebration dubbed #AllenStrongerTogether, packed with events and activities that aim to promote connection and resilience among residents. The series of events will run from September through October, providing locals with ample opportunities to engage with their community and participate in nurturing a shared future.
One of the highlighted events is the Cottage Market, open on the first and third Saturdays from September to November at Allen Heritage Village. This upscale open-air market invites guests to browse and shop in a historic setting. September also welcomes the North Texas Food Bank's annual Peanut Butter Drive, spanning the entire month, as reported by the City of Allen. The effort unifies the community in combatting hunger, by collecting both peanut butter and monetary donations. Following this, September 19 marks the North Texas Giving Day, an opportunity to support local non-profits and give back to good causes.
With the arrival of October, residents can look forward to National Night Out on the first of the month, designed to enhance police-community relationships. Allen's own National Night Out campaign encourages neighborhoods to register their block parties for potential appearances by the Allen Police Department. Other activities tailored for family fun include the Heritage Haunt presented by Credit Union of Texas, featuring a candlelight craft and concert event, and a family-friendly night campout with a movie screening at the Joe Farmer Recreation Center Amphitheater.
