A tragic event unfolded in Amarillo this past Saturday when Jose David Olmos, 42, fatally shot his wife and two children before ending his own life. The incident was first reported by a family member who discovered the bodies and called 911.
The Amarillo Police Department responded to the scene at 3600 NE 14th Ave before 6:30 p.m, as KFOX TV stated. Olmos's wife, Jessica Rose Olmos was 33 years of age, and the names of their children were Jazele and Daniel, police did not release the ages of the children. Each victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene.
An ABC 7 News crew was on-site and observed law enforcement's activities as the home became enclosed within crime scene tape Saturday night. NBC 15 reported that two bodies were seen being removed from the premises.
The investigation is ongoing and details are still emerging, officials have not yet commented on the possible motive behind this ordeal. The Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Unit were present at the house, meticulously documenting the scene where four lives came to an abrupt end.
