The Apache Junction Police Department, bolstered by partnerships with surrounding law enforcement agencies, has cracked down on a spate of burglaries and theft having plagued construction sites across the Valley. According to a recent report released by AJPD, they have arrested four people in connection with these thefts.

It all started on September 11 when AJPD officers caught individuals in the act of to brazenly steal plywood from a local construction site. Following this sighting, a search warrant led to the discovery of stolen construction material and trailers, with an estimated tens of thousands of dollars, tucked away at the suspects' residence.

The investigation, which has spanned several months and included numerous reports of such crimes, saw AJPD joining forces with multiple agencies to both identify and subsequently bring the culprits to book. They have pinpointed three separate groups thought to be behind these burglaries, and further arrests and charges are anticipated as the investigation unfolds.

"We take crime very seriously and there is no room for that type of behavior here in in AJ," Officer Banks told the Apache Junction official website. The collaborative effort between law enforcement and the community has been key, as tips from the public played a significant role in enabling the authorities to quickly crack down on this network of theft.

AJPD has expressed great appreciation for their community's involvement. The input from locals has been instrumental in helping track down and apprehend those accountable for the series of thefts and burglaries. For contact and more information, Rayna Steffen can be reached at [email protected].
