Arlington Parks and Recreation invites the community to enjoy exciting events in October as autumn arrives. With cooler weather perfect for outdoor activities, residents can mark their calendars for various festivities that celebrate the season. From cultural celebrations to family-friendly activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

According to the City of Arlington, the month kicks off with Oktoberfest on Friday, October 4, at S.J. Stovall Park from 6-10 PM. This year’s celebration promises live German music, yard games, and delicious food trucks, all free to attendees. A limited-edition Oktoberfest Stein, which includes a ticket for one free beer, will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Following closely is Phantom Lights on Saturday, October 5, at Cliff Nelson Park. This enchanting event features floating lanterns, a costume contest, a dance party, games, and live music for all ages.

The fun continues with Harvest Splash and Trail-or-Treat on October 18. At the East Indoor Pool, families can enjoy a floating pumpkin patch from 5-7 PM, where they can pick and decorate pumpkins. Meanwhile, the East Library and Recreation Center will host a spooktacular Trail-or-Treat event from 6-8 PM, featuring games, vendors, and plenty of trick-or-treating fun. The month wraps up with the Dottie Lynn’s In-Tents Campout on October 19 and Cozy Camp-o-Ween on October 25, offering unforgettable outdoor adventures filled with campfire stories, games, and delicious treats.
