An armed individual was taken into police custody in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh earlier Tuesday, an incident that prompted a response from multiple law enforcement agencies. According to WPXI, the University of Pittsburgh police, working in conjunction with other agencies, apprehended the person near the intersection of Niagara Street and Boulevard of the Allies. The situation was resolved without incident.
Although details about the type of weapon involved were not immediately made public, the individual was described as being "immediately" taken into custody without incident around 11:42 a.m., as noted in a report by WTAE.
Authorities added that this incident was not connected to a road closure on Meyran Road, between Forbes Avenue and Louisa Street.
