
A gas station in Mount Pleasant was the scene of a robbery on Sunday. The suspect, described as an unknown male, entered the Conoco Gas Station located at 4355 S. Broadway in the late afternoon with the intention to commit theft, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The incident report from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department outlines that at approximately 3:35 p.m., the man asked the clerk for cigarettes, and, during the transaction, unexpectedly drew a handgun. He demanded cash from the register, and discharged the weapon. The suspect was unsuccessful in obtaining money, but did take a pack of cigarettes and fled the scene. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported.
District 1 officers, responsible for the investigation, have not made any arrests as of yet and are seeking the public's assistance. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has released minimal details about the suspect's description and no further information on his whereabouts following the crime.
