An arrest warrant has been issued for a Maryland man, Kenneth Wilson Crider, 43, in connection with a carjacking incident that resulted in the theft of a vehicle with a veteran's dog inside. The car belonging to Willard Martz, an 87-year-old Donegal Township resident, was stolen outside the Tractor Supply in East Huntingdon Township on Monday, as reported by WPXI. Martz was not injured during the theft, but his dog Lucky, a 10-year-old Airedale terrier, remains to be found.
The suspect, Crider, allegedly took to forcibly remove the keys from Martz's pocket before making off with the car and the dog. Surveillance from the Connellsville Walmart later captured Crider arriving at the store in the stolen car, briefly allowing Lucky to relieve himself before disappearing with the vehicle again. According to a TribLIVE report, state police have since charged Crider with robbery, theft, and receiving stolen property in connection with the carjacking.
Amidst the ongoing search for Lucky, Martz's family has taken to social media, posting the dog's picture on Facebook and offering a reward for any information leading to his safe return. Interested individuals with details about Lucky's whereabouts have been asked to contact Linda Folino at 412-298-8611. Highlighting the urgency, the family notes the license plate on the Ford Focus is KVR-6440.
