Governor Greg Abbott has recently made a judicial appointment that brought attorney Terence Davis to the bench of the 480th Judicial District Court in Williamson County. This appointment, as mentioned on the Texas Governor's official website, is for a term that ends on December 31, although it extends until a successor is both elected and qualified. Davis, based in Leander, Texas, currently runs his own practice at the Davis Law Firm, P.C., and is recognized for his expertise in family law with a board certification from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
With a history deeply entrenched in the legal community of his county, Davis' resume reflects a series of commitments that, while certainly reputable, are numerous enough that may make it challenging to maintain the judiciary's demands. He is associated with the State Bar of Texas, where he participates prominently in the Family Law Section. On top of this, his previous tenure includes serving as president and board member of the Williamson County Bar Association, founding the Williamson County American Inn of Court, and co-founding the Christian Legal Society of Williamson County. Outside his law practice, he has dedicated time as a board member at the Journey Bible Fellowship Church and contributed to the community as president and board member of the Block House Municipal Utility District.
An academic background complementing his extensive professional experience, Davis holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Southwest Texas State University, which today stands as Texas State University. Further solidifying his legal qualifications, he obtained his Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University School of Law. These educational achievements have been the foundation upon which his subsequent career in law has been built, according to the official announcement.
