Austin will see a modest dance of rain showers today before the clouds part to gift a weekend of sun and low humidity. The forecast, according to The National Weather Service, includes a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms through this evening, with gusts possibly reaching 25 mph. Temperate relief is ahead though, as the highs hover around the 90-degree mark into early next week.

A drier pattern is set to quickly follow, starting Friday. By the evening, the likelihood of showers is predicted to dramatically decline, providing more space for sunlight to edge in. On Friday, while Austin will carry a low 10% chance for rain, it's also expected to witness a return to a 90º high. KXAN News reports that the upcoming weekend should deliver "mostly sunny skies and low humidity," allowing for a comfortable outdoor experience.
As for the evening cool-down, the forecast suggests that temperatures will graciously fall. Starting this weekend and pushing into the early weeks of September, nighttime temperatures are anticipated to settle in the pleasant range of the 60s, as per KXAN. The temperature drop is due to drier air cooling quickly once the sun sets.
