The Austin Police Department has detained two individuals in connection with a series of game room robberies that have recently occurred across the city. Isiah Turner, aged 28, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of armed robbery in June, as reported by FOX 7 Austin. His cousin, Daniel Wright, is facing charges of aggravated assault and aggravated robbery in what appears to be a string of coordinated crimes.
These game rooms, designed to provide a sanctuary for play, have instead been transformed into sites of fear and violence. It's alleged that Mr. Turner, often armed with a gun, did not hesitate to use violence in these robberies. Indeed, a victim was shot during an incident on July 5th. The Austin Police Department has responded promptly to swiftly address this string of violent events. An arrest warrant disclosed by the APD links Turner to at least six felony counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, as covered by KXAN.
Among the locations targeted were establishments such as the High Octane Game Room, StDigitel Austin on Cameron Road, and Hidden Treasures on US 290. These businesses, once bustling hubs for amusement and relaxation, unexpectedly found themselves at the center of a perilous spree of criminal activity.
Following the arrest, Isiah Turner is currently detained at the Travis County Jail. The bond set exceeds a towering $350,000. Police have methodically connected the dots between these cases, carefully comparing and matching details from different incidents to build a case against the suspects. According to the affidavit, Turner allegedly brandished a black handgun during the July robbery and, in a chilling turn of events, fired a shot that injured a victim before fleeing from the scene.
Detailed investigations such as these reflect the procedural and relentless nature of law enforcement in its pursuit of maintaining public safety. As the legal process unfolds, the community awaits justice for the acts that have disrupted the peace and infringed upon the sanctity of these recreational spaces. KXAN reached out to Turner's legal representatives but has yet to receive a comment regarding the allegations against him.
