
Early Tuesday morning, a house fire erupted in eastern Travis County that ravaged two homes, as reported by the Austin Fire Department. The incident, which began around 4 a.m. on the 9700 block of Colfax Drive, summoned firefighters to a scene between Decker Lake Road and Webberville Road, where a pre-fabricated home was discovered with flames and smoke, according to FOX 7 Austin.

Austin Fire Department crews battled the blaze, and while addressing the first fire, another home was found to be affected. While the fire was extinguished shortly after 5 a.m., details of the cause remain unclear. The fire department, working through the early morning at 4:22 a.m., was digging through the rubble for life and to ensure the fire had not spread to other concealed areas, as per the information by KXAN.
The fire has raised questions and prompted an investigation by local authorities. So far, there have been no reported injuries, but with the cause of the fire not yet known, the Austin Fire Department continues its investigation to ascertain how such an event unfolded in this quiet part of eastern Travis County.
