
The Austin Police Department is reaching out to the community for clues in an aggravated assault case that unfolded on the night of August 17 at 1801 E. 51st Street, outside the local H-E-B supermarket, reports indicate a pair of suspects in a white sedan unleashed a flurry of gunfire at individuals exiting the store.
According to the City of Austin, the suspects, described as two Hispanic males with slim builds and black curly hair, were recorded by surveillance as they conducted the attack around 9:50 p.m. The driver donned a white t-shirt adorned with a black Nike logo, draped in multiple chains, while the shooter, a passenger in the vehicle, sported a red sleeveless shirt, each made a swift getaway in the white sedan, an automobile believed to be a Honda Civic featuring tinted windows and a sunroof, and notably missing a front license plate.
The Austin Police Department is urging anyone who might have useful information about the white sedan or the two individuals connected to the weapon-wielding assault to come forward and contact the APD Aggravated Assault Unit at 512-974-5177, tipping off anonymously is an option through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program, which is accessible at austincrimestoppers.org or via phone at 512-472-8477.
