Anne Arundel County Police have reported a major update in the cases of two fatal shootings from earlier this June, ultimately tying both crimes to a single suspect. According to Anne Arundel County Police, the initial investigations began when officers were called to scenes in Severn and Brooklyn Park, where two separate shootings claimed the lives of Keion McKinney, 34, of Severn, and Joshua Ray Holland, 34, of Curtis Bay.
McKinney was found on June 14 fatally wounded behind a building in Meade Village Circle, with reports indicating that he had stepped outside a townhome before being shot. Less than two weeks later, on June 29, Holland was discovered at a road intersection, visibly injured from a shooting following what seemed to be a car accident.
Detectives have now linked the crimes through 18-year-old Deondre Tywon Sharps of Baltimore, who has been identified and charged for both murders as of today. In a statement released by the Anne Arundel County Police, Sharps is currently being held in Baltimore, with no apparent connection reported between the victims outside of their tragic shared fate.
