In a move to alleviate overcrowding and streamline the process of finding homes for its animals, the Beaver County Humane Society is launching a special event where adoptions will be free. As reported by CBS News, the initiative, running from September 24 to September 28, has been made possible through the generosity of an unnamed donor.

Potential adopters are encouraged to complete a pre-adoption application online – a measure aimed at speeding up the matchmaking process between pets and their prospective new owners. Within one to two days of applying, a shelter representative will reach out, a routine part of the pre-adoption vetting protocol. During the event, the shelter's mission is to reduce financial obstacles for families considering adoption and, in turn, replenish their capacity to accept more animals in need. According to WPXI, this measure intends to aid in more pets finding their forever homes.

Interested parties who get pre-approved can then schedule appointments to meet the animals they are interested in adopting. It is also required that children who will be living with the potential new pet and any currently owned dogs attend the meet and greet if another dog is being considered.

Those interested can start the process by visiting the Beaver County Humane Society's website and completing the pre-adoption application. Viewers can also browse the gallery of adorable, adoptable animals waiting to find a family during this philanthropic drive.
