A man has been taken into custody by the police in Bloomfield after his 4-month-old son was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries indicative of abuse. According to Pittsburgh Media Blotter, Zone 5 officers were called to the scene Tuesday when the infant was found to be unresponsive and in a critical state, the situation unfolding as an unnerving reminder of violence within the alleged sanctity of home life.
The infant, first taken to a local hospital, was quickly moved to Children's Hospital due to severe injuries. Detectives from the Violent Crime Unit are working hard to find the person responsible. Police acted quickly, using a search warrant to find the child's father, Seth Williams, 28, hiding in the basement of an apartment building. He was arrested and couldn't escape the law.
Williams faces multiple charges, including five felony counts of Aggravated Assault and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of Children. He is now held at the Allegheny County Jail, as per the authorities, with the bloom of his offspring's life hanging in the delicate balance of pediatric care.
