Boerne, TX prepares for the Hill Country Mile Rod Run, hitting Main Street again on October 12. Echoing the success of the previous year, the event will feature American-made cars, trucks, and motorcycles from 1975 and older for a grand showcase. In 2023, expect an even bigger display of vintage vehicles and works-in-progress.
Last year, as reveled in the stats – at least 2,000 visitors and about 250 classic vehicles – showcasing the Rod Run is beyond just a car show, according to the City of Boerne's news release. Attendees can expect to engage with food vendors, local merchants selling everything from bumper stickers to car parts and those offering haircuts amidst the festivities.
For those starting early, on Friday, Oct. 11, the day before the main event, organizers will roll out a pre-show and early check-in party on Old San Antonio Road. Spud Sims & The Beltways will start the evening with their live performance starting at 6 p.m., setting the stage a music for attendees to check in and enjoy the motoring marvels, whether they're pre-registered or not.
Open to the public and free, the Hill Country Mile Rod Run celebrating the hard work behind restoring classic cars, it culminates with an award ceremony recognizing the craftsmanship of completed models and upcoming projects. Registration comes with a fee that includes an event t-shirt, it promises to add further vehicles to the lineup along Main Street, from River Road to Main Plaza and Blanco Road.
