Two men have been arrested in connection with a recent shooting in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood, following responsive actions by the city's Youth Violence Strike Force. The first suspect, Elton Shepard, 66, was apprehended on Clare Avenue in Hyde Park at approximately 9:45 AM this morning. Shepard was taken into custody on a warrant for charges that include Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Assault to Murder, as reported by the Boston Police Department's official website.
Shortly thereafter, at 10:55 AM, authorities arrested Elton Shepard Jr., 42, in Brookline. Like his kin, Shepard Jr. was wanted on similar charges stemming from the same district court warrant. Both men are slated for arraignment at the Roxbury District Court.
Details concerning the shooting that led to these arrests were limited, but the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, when officers were called to Washington Street due to a shot spotter activation.
