Early this morning, Hyde Park officers received a call concerning a suspicious gathering near 8 Neponset Avenue and, upon responding to the scene, set in motion a chain of events that culminated in a vehicular pursuit and the eventual recovery of an assortment of firearms and a substantial sum of money.
According to the official report from the Boston Police Department, a resident had noticed a group of four males huddled within two vehicles outside their home, overheard discussions about breaking in, which prompted the resident to alert the police; after the call, officers approached a vehicle parked opposite the house, and as more information was being relayed to them, the suspects in question fled towards Canterbury Street at a high rate of speed.
The ensuing pursuit led officers to Eldridge Road, where two individuals were seen abandoning their vehicle and sprinting away, eluding the police despite an exhaustive search of the area. Back at the abandoned vehicle, authorities conducted a search that yielded three firearms and around $28,194 in US currency.
