A harrowing incident unfolded just before 5 p.m. last evening when Buckeye police were alerted to a 3-year-old girl found unresponsive in a hot car on a Buckeye home's property, near 212th Ln and Granada. Upon arrival, officers initiated life-saving measures, performing chest compressions and deploying an automated external defibrillator (AED), as per a report from the City of Buckeye. Despite the swift response, the child was pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital.
Based on initial information released, the family had earlier visited a park and returned home sometime after 2 p.m. In a searching effort that began hours later, having been unaccounted for, the girl was tragically discovered in the vehicle unresponsive, believed she was inside the car for approximately two hours before being found. The bereavement shadowed around the time when families would just be settling in for the evening, turning joy into mourning, unfathomable in its profundity.
The Buckeye police have emphasized that the investigation into this heartrending event is in its early stages. They are committed to providing updates on the case through their social media platforms, ensuring that the public remains informed as new details emerge.
An update on the case was posted yesterday, correcting the child's age to 3 years old. "Detectives received an updated date-of-birth indicating the victim is 3 years old," the Buckeye Police Department conveyed, ensuring that the public record stands corrected and reflects these tragic but necessary details of accuracy.
