The Buckeye Police Department is hitting the neighborhood beat with its Citizens Academy program, making its next stop in the Festival community. The free program is a deep dive into the inner workings of the police, featuring a mix of classroom instruction and direct, hands-on activities. Participants will get the lowdown on a range of police operations, from patrol to SWAT to the K9 unit.
Slated to begin on September 26, the Academy will run over the course of four Thursdays, each session lasting from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. These sessions are going down at the Festival Public Safety building at 27360 W. Wagner Complex Dr., as per the Buckeye city's official announcement. Space is limited, so those interested will want to act fast.
For those interested in delving deeper into the workings of law enforcement, the program offers insights into criminal investigations and traffic enforcement. It also covers code enforcement and includes an opportunity to explore their volunteer program. Interested parties should reach out pronto to Don McWilliams, the program coordinator, either by phone at (623) 349-6459 or by dropping an email at [email protected].
