The Calaveras County Sheriff's Office is reaching back into the past, reopening the case homicide investigation of James Edward Curre, whose life was brutally cut short over three decades ago. According to a statement from the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office, Curre was found deceased on his driveway in Copperopolis on the morning of June 14th, 1990. The investigation at the time unearthed evidence suggesting that Curre was attacked by an assailant, or possibly several assailants, armed with a knife inside his residence.
Detectives found 5 kilos of cocaine inside the residence during the initial investigation. Curre's body was found in the driveway. With this case among many mysteries in Calaveras County, authorities are seeking any leads to help solve it.
