Chandler Recreation is teaming up once again with Kyrene del Pueblo Middle School to bring back the much-anticipated Free Family Community Nights. Starting this month, every third Friday will offer families a chance to participate in a range of activities, from sports to crafts, at no charge.
Designed as an economical option for family fun, these Community Nights promise a themed playdate on select Fridays. According to the announcement posted by the City of Chandler, expect open gym games where family and friends, alongside sports, can dive into themed craft-making and enjoyable games. Even individuals with sensory sensitivities are considered with the inclusion of sensory bins.
The schedule for the upcoming events was released, detailing themes that range from a family night to seasonal festivities. September 20 will kick off with "Una Noche en Familia", and other themes include "Monster/Mayhem Fest" for October, complete with a costume contest, and "Thankful for All" in November. The holiday-themed events will feature a "Jingle Bell Rock" night in December, where participants can sport their ugliest sweaters, and a "Healthy Habits" focus in January.
Rounding out the season, February’s event will be embracing Valentine's vibes with "Love is in the Air", while April puts a spring in the step with "Blissful Blooming." May’s event, "Mad Science", is sure to be a hit with curious kids—and adults—with a penchant for experiments. Each themed event, available at no cost, provides families with unique opportunities for creating lasting memories.
Located at 360 S. Twelve Oaks Blvd., Kyrene del Pueblo Middle School plays host to these Community Nights. Those interested in the full list of dates and themes can find more information through the City of Chandler's Special Events page or by dialing (480) 782-2727.
