An individual was found deceased following a shooting yesterday early morning in east Charlotte, as reported by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. The incident took place on Eastcrest Drive, which intersects Central Avenue near Briar Creek Road. Upon arrival for a welfare check around 7:30 a.m., police discovered a victim with a gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene, confirmed by Medic.
The shooting is now being investigated as a homicide; however, the circumstances leading to it remain undisclosed at this time. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have yet to reveal any leads regarding a potential suspect or details surrounding the cause of the lethal encounter.
