Charlotte is dealing with a troubling situation after a murder on Woodway Oak Circle. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) reports that detectives are investigating the shooting death of a woman.
The CMPD states the officers were summoned to assist MEDIC in the early morning hours of Thursday, where upon their arrival shortly before 2:00 a.m., they discovered the victim already suffering from her fatal injuries, MEDIC pronounced the woman dead at the scene, the subsequent investigation is very much underway with the CMPD Homicide Unit detectives and Crime Scene Search teams carefully combing for evidence and information.
The incident occurred in the 8100 block of Woodway Oak Circle, reflecting ongoing violence issues in Charlotte. The community’s safety depends on the investigation's outcome as officials work to understand the circumstances behind the shooting. CMPD’s Operations Command and Victim Services, along with the Charlotte Fire Department (CFD) and MEDIC, worked together to manage the situation and provide immediate assistance.
