A $1 million bond was set for a Cincinnati man accused of engaging in sexual acts with a minor. Fred Jordan, 43, is facing two counts of rape following an incident alleged to have occurred in December. The crimes came to light when a 12-year-old was treated at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center for sexual abuse concerns on January 3, reported by FOX19.
When the hospital informed the Personal Crimes Squad, they coordinated with Lucas County Children’s Services and the Toledo Police Department in the investigation. It was found that clothing belonging to the child held the DNA of a known offender. This match was confirmed to be Jordan's during efforts coordinated with the Lucas County Child Advocacy Center, according to a statement obtained by WLWT.
The ongoing investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department also revealed that Jordan was already incarcerated at the Hamilton County Justice Center for drug trafficking charges when he was arrested last Friday for the rape charges. With the investigation still active, the authorities are urging anyone with additional information to contact the Cincinnati Police Department’s Major Offenders Unit at 513-352-3542, as reported by WCPO.
Currently housed in the Hamilton County Jail, Jordan is expected to return to court this Monday, September 30. The CPD has not disclosed the specific details regarding the location of the alleged abuse, whether it occurred in Cincinnati or Toledo was not specified, but Hamilton County Court records indicate that it happened in December 2023.
