The Kroger Wellness Festival has been canceled, scheduled to bring together health enthusiasts in downtown Cincinnati for a two-day event. According to a statement on social media via FOX19 News, organizers pulled the plug on Friday's activities in anticipation of severe weather conditions. High winds, forecasted by meteorologists and city officials' consultations, led to this decision.
Initially, Friday's cancellation was considered a precaution, with Saturday's lineup still set to go ahead. But as Hurricane Helene churned through the region, bringing further destruction, festival officials announced late Friday night that all events slated for Saturday would also be nixed. As obtained by WLWT, organizers said, "This was not an easy decision but we have consulted with Kroger leadership, the National Weather Service and local officials to arrive at this decision."
With the complete cancellation, the Wellness Festival focuses on providing aid instead of festivities. Kroger is collaborating with Matthew 25 Ministries to repurpose the vendor products initially intended for the festival. These resources are to aid those affected by Hurricane Helene's fury. "We look forward to bringing the Kroger Wellness Festival back to Cincinnati in 2025," the festival organizers expressed in a release, according to The Enquirer, hoping to return next year with better circumstances.
