Tragedy struck the 1000 Block of Cliff Creek Drive late Saturday night when an argument took an alarming turn, resulting in gunfire and the subsequent death of an adult male victim. According to a media release by the Columbus Division of Police, patrol officers received a dispatch call at 10:29 pm and quickly arrived at the scene to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite prompt transport to Doctor's West Hospital and efforts to save his life, the victim was pronounced deceased at 11:07 pm.
Information surrounding the incident remains sparse. However, it was witnessed during the time of the altercation that the victim and suspect were engaged in what ended with gunfire. The Columbus Police have since identified Alejandro Jose Angulo-Ramos as the suspect and have filed a murder warrant for his arrest. In contrast, the name of the victim waits to be released pending next of kin notification.
The investigation is ongoing and spearheaded by Columbus Police Detective Poliseno with assistance from Detective Vogel.
