Tragedy struck in the 1300 block of North High Street as a fight between two men turned fatal. On September 6, Columbus Police Patrol officers responded to the scene, where they discovered a victim with severe head injuries related to the altercation. According to a Columbus Police release, officers apprehended the suspect, identified as Mr. Adrian Ashley, who was close to the location of the incident.
The victim was quickly taken to a local hospital by CFD Medic 7, where he was listed in critical condition. Initially charged with Felonious Assault, Mr. Ashley now faces a graver count of Murder after the victim, Mr. Timothy Davis, succumbed to his injuries on September 8. "On September 8, 2024, despite all efforts by medical staff, the victim in this incident, identified as Mr. Timothy Davis, was pronounced deceased at 12:15 PM," states the police above update.
Detectives leading the investigation are still seeking additional evidence and have renewed their call for witnesses, particularly those who might have video footage of the violent encounter. The release urges, "Detectives would like to speak with those individuals regarding what they observed and may have captured on video."
