A shooting incident in Columbus has resulted from an apparent self-inflicted mistake, authorities report. On Tuesday morning, Columbus Police were called to the scene at the 4800 Block of Warminster Dr. around 9:56 a.m. after getting reports of gunfire. According to the official statement released by the Columbus Division of Police, the initial investigation suggests the shooting was accidental.
While details remained scarce, the evidence gathered and statements taken at the location led officials to surmise that the shooting was self-inflicted/a result of personal error. The investigation is still underway as further insight is sought into the circumstances leading up to the event.
