
A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, September 10, as Columbus Police Officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Parkwood Ave. This response was prompted by a ShotSpotter alert at 7:04 PM, where, upon arrival, an adult victim suffering from a gunshot wound was discovered. The Columbus Fire Department Medic 818 swiftly attended the scene, transporting the victim to Grant Hospital in a state of critical condition.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at 7:23 PM, as stated in a media release by the Columbus Police Department. The victim's identity was initially withheld but has now been disclosed following the Franklin County Coroner's Office identification and notification to the next of kin.
