Chaos erupted on a quiet street in Columbus on Sunday when a man, simply sitting in his vehicle, was suddenly surrounded by danger. According to the Columbus Division of Police media release, at around 6:25 pm, six suspects armed with handguns approached the unsuspecting victim, demanding his vehicle and valuables.
The aftermath of the brazen armed robbery ensued when the suspects made off with the vehicle, only to be pursued by the police shortly after. Four of the suspects were caught following a vehicle crash in the Downtown area, however two remain at large, eluding law enforcement's grasp. The police are seeking the public's help, circulating photos and requesting anyone with information to come forward. The contact for the Columbus Police Robbery Unit is 614-645-4665, and to remain anonymous, people can reach out to Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477).
While patrol officers' quick response apprehensive most of the suspects, the search continues for the remaining two individuals. The Columbus community has been asked to play a crucial role in this pursuit of justice as the police turn to them, hoping to close this case effectively with a sense of urgency that does not breach the calm of their daily procedures.
