According to the City of Henderson, multiple emergency calls about gunfire and a man down were received around 3:57 a.m., prompting a swift response from law enforcement and medical teams.
Upon their arrival, first responders found a 33-year-old male who, after being approached and threatened by another male brandishing a firearm and demanding his possessions in response, fearing for his life, discharged his weapon multiple times, hitting the assailant. Paramedics attempted lifesaving measures, however, the individual who was shot did not survive and was declared dead at the scene, marking a somber moment as the city's sixth homicide of the year.
The shooter remained at the scene and has been cooperative with law enforcement officers, providing his account of the events, with the investigation currently being treated as a homicide by the Henderson Police Department.
